COVID Prevention on Campus

As SAFEGAITERS, our goal is to help prevent the spread of Covid-19. We do this by ensuring that everyone on campus understands the public health guidelines that have been put in place and follows the regulations to keep our campus safe. Our team provides pro - cedural masks and hand sanitizers at the main entrances of all academic buildings on campus. Our responsibilities include verifying proof of vaccination, cleaning classrooms, and replacing PPE across campus. SafeGaiters are hard at work to protect our campus from Covid-19 and its variants. Our goal is to provide this service to the best of our ability in a positive, kind, and encouraging way.

As SAFEGAITERS, we have the responsibility of reminding others of current public health guidelines and leading by example. We kindly ask everyone on campus to assist us by doing their part to keep us all safe by wear- ing their masks, sanitizing, maintaining distance and following the latest regulations. We have no doubt that our presence allows students, fac- ulty, and sta ff to feel more at ease. Seeing a SAFEGAITER actively walking across campus serves to demonstrate that there is someone out there working to keep campus safe and to also provide someone to answer questions you may have on what Bishop’s is doing to en- sure the safety of our campus. Students, sta ff and faculty have the reassurance that every time they enter a class, the room is clean and sanitized allowing students to enjoy in person classes even more. To assist in preventing the spread of the virus, we work throughout the day to clean and sanitize classrooms. As SAFEGAIT- ERS, we are grateful for the continued support of the Bishop’s community and believe that with a little teamwork we can make our time on campus a little safer, cleaner, and enjoyable for all dur- ing these challenging times. This job truly makes a di ff erence when it comes to the safety of our community, campus, and our fellow classmates. Though these times are certainly unique and come with unprecedented challenges, we are pleased to safely wel- come students, sta ff and faculty back to a campus. The SAFEGAITERS are proud to be a part of the Bishop’s com-munity, whether it is at the Library Learning Commons, in the Sports Center, the Purple Pod, in residence, or in any of the academic buildings. Over the last two years we have assisted in preventing outbreaks on campus, and we will continue to work hard to ensure that the campus will re-main safe to keep the Bishop’s experience alive for past, present, and future students. We are proud to wear our purple vests (and masks) while we work!
