COVID Prevention on Campus

As SAFEGAITERS, our goal is to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus by ensuring that everyone on campus understands the sanitary measures that have been put in place to keep our campus safe. Our team has provided procedure masks and hand sanitizer at main entrances of campus build- LQJV IRU IDFXOW\ VWD̫ DQG VWXGHQWV WR KHOS VWD\ VDIH RQ FDPSXV 2XU PDLQ UHVSRQVLELOLW\ LV WR PRYH DERXW FDPSXV DQG VDQLWL]H FODVVURRPV DIWHU WKH\ KDYH EHHQ XVHG DQG HQVXUH WKDW IDFXOW\ KDYH DOO WKH SURWHFWLYH HTXLSPHQW QHHGHG LQ RUGHU WR IXO̬OO WKHLU LQ SHUVRQ WHDFKLQJ H[SHULHQFHV :KHWKHU LW LV FRQWLQXLQJ WR HQFRXUDJH SHRSOH WR ZDVK WKHLU KDQGV HYHU\ WLPH WKH\ HQWHU D EXLOGLQJ H[SODLQLQJ GLUHFWLRQDO VLJQDJH SURYLGLQJ QHZ SURFHGXUH PDVN H\H SURWHFWLRQ RU DGGLWLRQDO VDQLWL]HU ZH ZRUN WR SURYLGH D FRPIRUWLQJ DQG IULHQGO\ WRXFK WR SURYLGH WKH EHVW %LVKRSʌV H[SHULHQFH SRVVLEOH

As SAFEGAITERS, we also have the responsibility of modelling all public health guidelines, leading by example and asking everyone on campus to play their part in cooperating. Without a doubt, we know RXU SUHVHQFH DOORZV VWXGHQWV IDFXOW\ DQG VWD̫ WR feel more at ease. When they see a SAFEGAITER out and about, they know that we are here for pre- ventative reasons and that they can reach out if they need anything. Students and faculty have the assurance that every time they enter a class, preventative measures were put in place to make sure that the class is clean and sanitized in order to enjoy in-person class courses. In fact, many faculty and students have reached out to us while cleaning their classes and told us that they were grateful for our presence DQG WKDW RXU ZRUN GRHV PDNH D GL̫HUHQFH $V D SAFEGAITER this recognition from faculty and students inspires our team to continue our work to keep everyone as safe as possible. 7KURXJKRXW WKHVH GL̮FXOW WLPHV ZH DUH YHU\ fortunate to be able to be on campus and pro- mote to the community that they can come to, and safely enjoy the campus as much as pos- sible. We appreciate being in the BUbble while the world is largely on pause. The SAFEGAITERS are proud to be a part of the Bishop’s community, whether it is at the learning commons, in the sports center, in residence, or in the academic buildings. We are truly thankful for the opportunity that was given to us by our university in these challenging times and we are proud to wear our purple vests while we work! We feel that this job truly makes a GL̫HUHQFH ZKHQ LW FRPHV WR WKH VDIHW\ RI RXU FRP - munity, campus and of our fellow classmates.
