What is the Bishop’s Experience?

One thing is for sure. You are going to change a lot during your time here. First year classes are about introductions – to new subjects, to your professors and to your peers. In many ways it is an introduction to yourself – you are about to see what you are made of. You will be hitting the books, and the material and your professors will chal- lenge you. Over time, you will be confident in your ability to form an ar- gument, write a coherent paper, solve problems using various angles, successfully work within a group, and respectfully speak your mind. Learning in a non-judgmental community is the best way to build one’s identity and to develop the confidence to try new things. That is why Bishop’s students have consistently rated their experiences as amongst the most satisfying and most engaging in Canada, and why they go on to do amazing things with their lives. A lot of what happens here depends on YOU. Creating an academic environment where you can grow and change depends on US.
